'Living With' had a few very successful condition management apps on the market which were coupled with a cloud-based clinician portal to keep track of patient's progress.

I was hired to turn all existing products into a unified and completely modular long-term condition management system where clinicians can create their clinic and patient apps in 5 minutes, drastically reducing development costs and allowing them to have an app for unlimited conditions. The patient activities are shared with and monitored by the clinician and AI improved analytics help decision making.

I also lead the complete rebranding which included a new face for all the unified apps, website and condition management portal.

Execution

The complexity of a universal build your own healthcare app that delivers for most conditions cannot be overstated. After many group workshops with patients with long term conditions including oesophageal cancer, lung cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, overactive bladder, pregnancy-related girdle pain, urinary tract infection, Chrone's disease, and many more I analysed each condition's recovery paths to find common elements that help doctors make better decisions with the treatment plan.

I put down the foundations of a platform that makes it possible to manage most conditions and the data we capture is invaluable for the clinicians speeding up decision making, improving accuracy, creating meaningful cohorts of patients to better predict possible outcomes. Working closely with our data scientist I completely redesigned the clinician portal to fit the new modular system and give home to new analytics. The core of it all was our well thought through modular system: modules include PROMS, Diaries, exercises, pathway, messaging, simple measures, complex measures, incidents, interventions. Each module highly flexible and configurable.

Results

The new "Build Your Own" platform launched October '19 successfully delivering on the end-to-end process with the ability to automatically sign up and create your own clinic and build your patient app tailored to a specific condition.
